Zito wins...Zito wins...Zito wins!

Giants win 2-0 because of a stellar eight inning performance by Barry Zito.

Barry Zito looked like Zito of old.  He was able to change speeds, hit locations and managed to stay ahead in the count.  This may have been his best pitched game in a Giant uniform.

Fred Lewis finds comfort in the third spot in the batting order.

Brian Wilson shut the door on 16 pitches.  Strikes out one and two ground outs to first baseman Rich Aurilia.

I heartily approve of Lewis batting 3rd. He has decent power and is too much of a free-swinger (ie. strikes out too much) to lead off. Besides, the Giants' left fielder is supposed to hit 3rd, right?

I too, like the Lewis move. He is better suited for the number three spot. He has been great last last few nights. He is a free-swinger. Jake Peavy had to pitch, i believe, some 20 plus pitches to him...not to mention what he did against Randy Johnson. I think the Giants management are ordering a lazy-boy armchair for the clubhouse. Just no “personal trainers.”
